Before you start planning your photoshoot, it’s essential to determine the main theme and inspiration for the shoot.
Do you want it to be inspired by a specific theme, outfit, movie, book or location?
You can also look at some photographs of gothic imagery for inspiration, and make sure that you have a clear idea of what you want the finished product to look like. Pin some images to a visual mood board that you can refer to when shopping or setting up props!
Finalize Your Look and Props.
Now that you have a general idea of what kind of photos you want to take, it’s time to start accessing pieces and accessories to complete your look.
Consider adding a big statement piece such as a corset, cloak or hat, without going overboard—sometimes less is more. A nice black outfit with some accessories can take you a long way.
Additionally, you could find props that fit the mysterious theme, such as skulls, pumpkins, candelabras and tarot cards for maximum impact.
